So far I have roughly sketched out some of the ideas which may be included in the final book. As I make this sketch it has begun to become apparent which of the ideas form its golden threads and the manner of their appearance. One of those threads is that of the lion of alchemy:
Philosophically, the Green Lion is the raw forces of nature or the subconscious that we are seeking to tame, and the Red Lion is the assimilation or control of those forces. In the final stages of the work, the Red Lion grows wings. The Winged Lion is the volatile or spiritual aspect of a substance, which is the sublimated salt used to make the Philosopher’s Stone.
The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Alchemy: The Magic and Mystery of the Ancient Craft Revealed for Today by Dennis William Hauck.
Following such an imagery; the text so far is at the stage of the Green Lion – I am starting to gather together some of the ideas and information required to make further progress. I believe I have travelled sufficiently far for a reader to have an idea of my progress with at least the first few chapters.
Next comes the Red lion; I need to assimilate and order what I have done so far – add chapter headings to each relevant post, also the categories and tags which help people navigate through this work and see how it may relate to other work. The later chapters will also require sketching out – a return to the Green lion.
Only when my Red lion is ready to become the Winged lion will I return to the first chapters to add pictures and start work on my final text, such that it may take wing and lift itself up into the realm of true ideas. This is my intention; but only those who (hopefully) may read this book will know if I have found the ‘gold’. However – please be patient – this is still a long way away.
